Hi, WGAR, I am Sue from Adelaide Stop The Intervention. I could not believe my eyes when i saw a link about the intervention today saying young men should not be allowed to participate in ceremony until they have finished high school. I'm sure christians would not be happy if we tried to link baptism or other of their ceremonies to education. We will have the Jobs With Justice petition at the central Adelaide Market on Friday the 4th of March from 5pm along with the latest stop the intervention and basics card information to hand out. There was an article printed last week in the Messenger saying the basics card would be introduced to Elizabeth, Salisbury and Manno Para for everyone on the dole or some other government payments.

I am well aware of Mr Graham's inflammatory and inaccurate rhetoric about Lateline's excellent coverage of an important and confronting issue, and the misinformation he consistently spreads. As a media organisation, the ABC believes in free speech, and Mr Graham is of course entitled to his view, unencumbered as it is by the facts.
But anyone inclined to lend credence to it really should acquaint themselves with the truth first, and it can be found here:

The CERD Report and recommendations need to be public knowledge when we are presumably doing a Referendum in the next few years.

While we are at it, we might as well legitimise this illegal squat called settler australia that I was born into.

Recognition of first nations peoples, if put into the body of the constitution by referendum, subjegates our still sovereign first nations, coming under the sovereignty of this british squat.
It needs to be in The Preamble, this "first nations peoples", because that's where sovereigns go, like her madge, gd, perhaps even "we the people" should be in there, but we have not earned that claim to sovereignty, and that bit needs to be part of a legislated Charter of Rights.

Does Oz want to keep the Windsors as a part of our raison d'etre, or can our sovereign first nations resume their natural entitlement?

It's gotta go to The Palace, in my vew. I've tried, and was looking forward to the Queen's speech to the UN, last July, but she was pretty generalist.
Presently, the Preamble is the british Commonwealth of Australia Act of 1898, so I believe it's hard to "put it in the Preamble somehow" to quote JonWinHoward, and avoid a Treaty. Treaties are between sovereign entities, nation state treaties are between nation states, which also baffled JWH, but our sovereign first nations need recognition and a Treaty with our sovereign firstly, not just our government.
This is a racist country, embedded racist from 1788 and still going.
But we're working on it, hopefully.
